Add a Device or Softphone
To add a device to the portal, you must already have an extension created.
Follow this link if you want to create one:
1. Open the desired extension for the device you want to add. Click the Add button to the Upper right-hand corner of the page: ![]()
2. You should get the following pop-up:
** If you are adding a desk phone or a Wi-Fi portable, then you will want to stay on the Device tab. If you are looking to install the UniVoxx app on your mobile device, you will be prompted in the app to scan a QR code to register. The QR code is located in the Softphone tab.
3. When adding a desk phone or Wi-Fi portable, make sure to type in the MAC address of the desired device, and double-check to make sure you have entered it correctly. Select the device's manufacturer and model, then select the location. The location list will show only one option: the location you have decided to create your extension in.
4. After adding the device, you will see the following on your screen:
Click on the 'Update' button at the bottom of the page. The devices will not be registered until the Update button is clicked on. You should be able to confirm that the device has been successfully registered by clicking your extension to see a green dot indicating it is online. The device itself should also reflect the name and extension number that it is assigned to.
