Configure Wi-Fi Phones

Wi-Fi settings for portable phones can be configured before provisioning via the portal or on the physical device. The majority of Wi-Fi configurations will happen on the portal before provisioning.
 

Manual configuration of the device will be required if the device is shipped directly to the customer who has not had a portable before, or the Wi-Fi settings are not acquired before provisioning and shipping the device to the customer.

 
1) Turn on portable phone by holding the end call button
 
2) Select “Settings” from the main screen
 
3) Scroll down to “Network“ and select this menu option
 
4) Select “Wi-Fi Networks” from this menu
 
5) Select the correct Wi-Fi network SSID, if it is present. Otherwise select “Options” on the bottom right of the screen.
 
A) After selecting “Options”,  select “Add SSID”
 
B) Input the SSID for the network
 
6) Input the following information for the network
  • Name/SSID – This is the exact name of the network as seen on the devices connected to it.
  • Password – This is the password used to connect to the network.
    • There is an option above the password to allow viewing the characters being typed. We highly recommend using this setting as it is very easy to make a spelling mistake.
  • Hidden – Is the SSID hidden or is it broadcast for anyone trying to connect?
  • Security type - WPA/WPA2
