Add an iOS/Android softphone

The UniVoxx Softphone allows you to make and receive calls on your iOS or Android device, using the UniVoxx service. Each UniVoxx extension can have a desk phone and a softphone attached, allowing both devices to ring simultaneously.

 

Before proceeding:

  • There is a limit of (1) softphone per extension.
  • You’ll need UniVoxx administrator privileges to enable.
  • A configuration token can be sent via eMail, SMS, or QR code.
  • If you already have your token, skip to our setup guide here for setup instructions.

 

1.   Log into the UniVoxx Portal, with administrator permissions.

2. Click on “Extensions”

3. Choose the extension you wish to add the softphone to

4. In the top right, click “Add Device”, and elect the “Softphone” Tab.

5. Enter a nickname for the device you’re configuring, and choose the setup method:

  • Option 1: QR Code – You’ll first need to download the UniVoxx App from the iOS App Store, or Google Play Store. Once installed, open the app, click on the QR code, and scan the QR code on the UniVoxx Portal.
  • Option 2: SMS – You’ll receive a text message from (313) 626 – 5000 with installation instructions. Click the link, hit Step 1 which will redirect you to download and install our application. Once downloaded, go back into the text message, and click “Step 2” to activate the application.
  • Option 3: QR Code – You’ll first need to download the UniVoxx App from the iOS App Store, or Google Play Store. Once installed, open the app, click on the QR code, and scan the QR code on the UniVoxx Portal.

6. Once the mobile app has been enabled, click here for instructions on how to setup the app.

IMPORTANT: When opening the UniVoxx App, please allow all permissions including: Notifications, Microphone, Speaker, and Camera. Without enabling these features, our application may not function properly.
