How to Configure the Bria Softphone for iOS & Android

Please follow the steps below to download and setup the Bria mobile application, which will enable UniVoxx customers can make and receive phone calls from their Mobile Phone.

Part 1 – Request Access & Download Mobile Application

  1. Have a UniVoxx system administrator request Softphone access by emailing support@univoxx.com with the extension number. Once approved, UniVoxx will provide you with login credentials required to setup the mobile application.
  2. Download the Bria application from your respective mobile phone app store.

  3. Once the application is successfully installed on your phone, please open it to begin the setup process.

Part 2 – Setup Bria Mobile Application

  1. Upon first opening the application, you should see a page with a title of ‘Select Provider’. If this is not visable, the app may have been previously opened. Please click ‘Settings’ on the bottom, go to help, and reset.
  2. Select the top option, “SIP – VoIP (SIP) – Calling”.
  3. Please enter use the following information under the “User Details Section” of the “New SIP Account” screen:
    1. Account Name: <extension_user_id from UniVoxx mobile access request>
    1. Display as: <extension_user_id from UniVoxx mobile access request>
    1. Username: <extension_user_id from UniVoxx mobile access request>***
    1. Password: <password from UniVoxx mobile access request>***
    1. Domain: <domain from UniVoxx mobile access request>***
      ***PLEASE COPY AND PASTE THESE VALUES, as entering incorrectly could block your entire internet connection***
  4. Scroll down to find the section titled “Push Service”:
    1. Click on the setting entitled “Registration Mode” and change it from “Single Device Takeover” to “Continuous”, and then click the top left corner to go back to the previous “New SIP Account” screen.
    1. Tap the “Push Advanced Settings” setting, which will expand a number of additional options.
      1. Under the setting for SIP Proxy, enter <proxy from UniVoxx mobile access request>
  5. Please enter use the following information under the “Voicemail” of the “New SIP Account” screen:
    1. Set VM Number to *97
  6. Beneth the Voicemail Setting, tap “Account Specific Features”
    1. Tap “Enable Video” and toggle it from “On” to “Off”.
    1. Tap the “Back” button on the top left corner to return back to the previous screen.
  7. Beneath the last selection, please tap “Account Advanced”
    1. Enter the Out. Proxy as <proxy from UniVoxx mobile access request>
    1. Enter the Auth Name as <extension_user_id from UniVoxx mobile access request>
    1. Scroll down toward the bottom of this page, and there will be an option for “Show Miscellaneous”. Toggle that, and then enable the setting toggle for “Force Outbound Proxy”.
    1. Scroll down again toward the bottom, and then tap the toggle for “Verify TLS Cert” to disable this feature.
    1. At the bottom of this page tap the last setting option called “DNS Servers”.
      1. Tap the toggle for “Use custom DNS servers”, and then enter 1.1.1.1 as the Custom Name Server.
    1. Tap the top right corner to go back to the Advanced Settings.
    1. Tap the top right corner again to go back to the “New SIP Account” page.
  8. Scroll back to the top of the page, toggle the “Enabled” button. Once you confirm acceptance with the CounterPath/Bria Privacy Policy, please tap the “I Agree” button.
  9. Tap the top right corner to save all settings.
  10. On the bottom navigation, tap “Phone”, and begin using Bria for all UniVoxx inbound and outbound calls!
  11. Once all of the steps have been completed, please flip the “Enabled” toggle and hit ‘Save on the top right corner.
