Network Requirements
Here are various network settings and infrastructures that are required.
Physical Infrastructure Requirements
- A Cat5e cable is run to each location that a desk phone is being installed.
- Once our phone has been installed, it can bridge the connection, if needed.
- PoE switches
- UniVoxx recommends an internet connection with at least 0.25Mbps per phone and less than a 30ms latency to Amazon.
Networking Device Settings
- IGMP Snooping: Disabled on all switches
- QoS for real-time/highest QoS priority for all traffic on VoIP VLAN and/or DSCP codes 26 and 46
- SIP ALG: Disable
- VLAN ID: If a VLAN is used on-site for phone traffic, we will need that information from your IT vendor.
- Wi-Fi: If portable Wi-Fi phones are requested, we will need the below information about the Wi-Fi network.
